An industrial controller is therefore a computer-based device specialised in manufacturing and process control.
The simplest form of control systems include discrete controllers consisting of a single control loop. These devices are often panel mounted allowing for direct viewing of the front panel. Today nearly all controllers are electric, however, historically pneumatics controllers were used.
