Vickers, one of the most well-known and reputable names in hydraulics, was founded in 1828 in Sheffield by Edward Vickers and his father-in-law George Naylor as a steel foundry. The company name was replaced by Vickers Ltd in 1911, and Vickers Ltd (Aviation Department) was established to extend the company's operations into aircraft manufacturing. Vickers started by producing steel castings and soon rose to prominence as a bell-casting business.
Vickers joined Eaton in 1999. Today, Vickers vane and piston pumps, valves, electro-hydraulic controls, tubes, and filtration products are used in automotive, mobile, aerospace, marine, and defence applications around the world. Vickers has invented the industry's first fluid analysis facility, which the Eaton Fluid Analysis Laboratory proudly continues. The company’s product range includes the following:
- Cylinders
-Industrial valves
- Piston motors
- Servo valves
Ethical considerations are stated as the foundation of the organization’s integrity and way of doing right business. Their sustainability drives have goals like 50% reduction of GHG emissions from 2018 and by 2030, a 100% zero-waste to landfill in manufacturing sites with certification by 2030, and an investment of $3bn to achieve these goals.
