Nestlé S.A. is a Swiss multinational food and drinks processing conglomerate corporation headquartered in Vevey, Vaud, Switzerland. Founded in 1905 by the merger of the Anglo-Swiss Milk Company and Farine Lactée Henri Nestlé, the company has since made several corporate acquisitions including Crosse & Blackwell in 1950, Findus in 1963, Libby’s in 1971, Rown Mackintosh in 1988, Klim in 1988 and Geber in 2007. Nestlé is currently considered the largest food company in the world since 2014.
Nestlé products include baby food, medical food, bottled water, dairy products, ice cream, breakfast cereals, confectionery, coffee and tea, frozen food, snacks and pet foods. Nespresso, Nescafé, Kit Kat, Smarties, Nequick, Stouffer’s, Vittel and Maggi include some out of 29 Nestlé brands with annual sales of over 1 billion CHF (approximately $1.1 billion).
Nestlé has 447 factories and operates in 189 countries, employing around 339,000 people. Nestlé is also a major stakeholder of the largest global cosmetics company, L’Oreal.
